چکیده

High-index dielectrics have recently been regarded as promising building blocks in nanophotonics owing to optical electric and magnetic Mie resonances. In particular, silicon is gaining great interest the backbone of modern technology. Here, dimer nanocavities with different sizes nanospheres were constructed using a probe nanomanipulation method interacted few-layered R6G membrane investigate enhancement mode coupling. The evidence fluorescence slightly prolonged lifetime indicated existence nanocavities. addition, simulated field distributions decomposed nanocavity used analyze contribution modes enhanced fluorescence. Such flexible has applications sensing all-dielectric metamaterials or nanophotonic devices.

Magnetic and electric hotspots with silicon nanodimers.

The study of the resonant behavior of silicon nanostructures provides a new route for achieving efficient control of both electric and magnetic components of light. We demonstrate experimentally and numerically that enhancement of localized electric and magnetic fields can be achieved in a silicon nanodimer. For the first time, we experimentally observe hotspots of the magnetic field at visible...

Silicon coupled with plasmon nanocavity generates bright visible hot-luminescence

Due to limitations in device speed and performance of silicon-based electronics, silicon optoelectronics has been extensively studied to achieve ultrafast optical-data processing1-3. However, the biggest challenge has been to develop an efficient silicon-based light source since indirect band-gap of silicon gives rise to extremely low emission efficiency. Although light emission in quantum-conf...

Electric field enhancement with plasmonic colloidal nanoantennas excited by a silicon nitride waveguide.

We investigate the feasibility of CMOS-compatible optical structures to develop novel integrated spectroscopy systems. We show that local field enhancement is achievable utilizing dimers of plasmonic nanospheres that can be assembled from colloidal solutions on top of a CMOS-compatible optical waveguide. The resonant dimer nanoantennas are excited by modes guided in the integrated silicon nitri...

High-frequency self-induced oscillations in a silicon nanocavity.

We show that self-induced oscillations at frequencies above GHz and with a high spectral purity can be obtained in a silicon photonic crystal nanocavity under optical pumping. This self-pulsing results from the interplay between the nonlinear response of the cavity and the photon cavity lifetime. We provide a model to analyze the mechanisms governing the onset of self-pulsing, the amplitudes of...

Propagating nanocavity-enhanced rapid crystallization of silicon thin films.

We demonstrate a mechanism of solid-phase crystallization (SPC) enabled by nanoscale cavities formed at the interface between an hydrogenated amorphous silicon film and embedded 30 to 40 nm Si nanocrystals. The nanocavities, 10 to 25 nm across, have the unique property of an internal surface that is part amorphous and part crystalline, enabling capillarity-driven diffusion from the amorphous to...
